Read a lot of positive reviews about Sira Salon before checking it out. Believe the hype! Nicky is the consummate professional, her shop is clean with a relaxing atmosphere. She did a great job styling my hair and booking an appointment was very simply, I found a time that worked with my schedule and booked with ease.

I had a great experience at Sira! I needed an appt, My regular beautician was booked! So i looked for the best beauticians in Oak Park. After sifting through the choices, i chose Sira. I was able to book the appt fairly quickly. Once i arrived i was welcomed nicely, the wait was very short before my consult. The shampoo woman's massage was the ! My scalp was so spoiled that day. The products are of high organic quality and my strands soaked up every strand of those nutrients... my hair was shiny, full & bouncy . Very pleased with my first experience. Niki shows professionalism and expertise in her craft.

I have only great things to say about this salon. Though I only went for cornrows, I was so impressed with the service that I immediately booked my follow up appointment. Being new to Chicago, I'm so happy to have found this great salon.

I've been here 3 times now, and have had a comfortable and enjoyable experience each time. Ashley does great work on my hair. She always gives me tips and explains how my hair is doing (health-wise). The other ladies in the salon are great to chat with, too. They take all kinds of clients- old and young, female, male, natural hair, relaxed hair- they handle it all!
I also really like that they try to use all natural products. Before I was even in the chair for the first time, they made sure to find out if I had any allergies things that may irritate my skin.

It's very difficult for me to maintain my own hair, but Ashley is giving me confidence and the info and tools I need to keep it looking great until my next visit.
Even though I've moved a lot closer to the city, I will continue to go back to Sira Salon in Oak Park for all of my hair care needs!

I had a wonderful experience at Sira Salon this weekend. I went it with a plan to get my natural hair washed, conditioned, straightened and styled. I told Nicky that I was looking to have it cut a bit but that she should feel free to do whatever she thought would look best. She asked me very clearly before starting to cut and I couldn't be happier with the result! Absolutely perfect. She even responded well when I said that I felt my hair was too curly. I'm very happy with my cut and pixie style. This will definitely be my new go-to salon! Oh, and I almost forgot the best part! They were super timely and I was a walk-in!

I was looking through yelp in search of a Black hair salon, and decided to try out Sira because it had some pretty good reviews. I made an appointment with Ashley, and she was great. I felt like she took the time to do quality work with my hair, and I really appreciated how she explained what she was doing/why, and the effects it would have on my hair. She also told me about some different (and better) ways to care for my curls. What I appreciated most about her explanations was that she did it in a way that was patient and informative, but I never felt like she was being condescending. I'll definitely be back; I feel like I can trust the women at Sira to straighten my hair...something I haven't allowed anyone but myself to do since I was 12! :)

Unbelievable customer service. Nikki, Rita and the rest of the ladies are phenomenal! Last minute call and same day appointment. Could not ask for better people, customer service or professionalism. Shop was clean, services on point. My new place when visiting Chicago.

I used to always comb out my hair after visiting a salon. Nobody ever did my hair the way I asked, or made it flattering to my face. The color would be off and, combined with the styles, ranged from not quite right to just plain ugly. Nicky styled my hair the way I asked, gave me the color that I wanted and added her own special touch that made me look fantastic. I get so many complements. Everyone leaves Sira Salon looking beautiful!

I can't rave more about Nicky! I absolutely love her work on my hair and it is worth EVERY PENNY. Not only does she style and cut beautifully but I can trust her with my hair. She cares about the health of it and addresses any question I may have to continue my own care at home. This is a rare quality in beauticians and I can't say enough about how great she is. I came in with damaged and broken hair and now have a gorgeous thickness and silk that a person can easily be jealous of. I recommend her to everyone I know. This is the place to go.

I saw her do several clients hair and it came out beautiful, naturals and relaxed alike.  Today I decided to take my cut to the next level and get a taper, and I am very pleased with the results. I can't wait to continue my journey at Sira's and I feel like I may have just found the place for me and my natural hair after such a long journey of research and anxiety :-)

Nicole has been my stylist for 8 years. During this period I have had short hair weave perms and she convinced me to go natural 5 years ago. Great service, nice people. A little in the pricy side- but worth it. I just moved to this area and I tried a few places. So far this is the best place in the area. I love the fact that you can book online and they are open on Sundays. Focus in healthy hair- so you don't leave feeling like your hair is fried and died.

Ashley styled my hair for the first time today. Loved it -- and her! She gave me exactly what I asked for -- volume, shine and bounce. Plus she has a warm personality, which as a first-time customer, made my visit more pleasurable. I recommend her for your styling needs.

I Love going to Sira Salon because it's a very upscale & compfortable enviornment you will leave this salon feeling like a diva!! I was referred to Sira Salon by a co-worker after admiring her hair weeks ago but hadn't made time to drive to Oak Park.  As a result, I arrived at the salon wearing a wig to cover my neglected, natural (African American) hair and left with bouncy, healthy-looking hair that was exactly the color I wanted. My stylist (salon owner) Nicole was friendly, welcoming and provided an excellent consultation.  The yelp deal was gravy!  Despite the drive from Downers Grove, I'll be returning to Sira for my next trim.

I absolutely love this place. Nicky has Saved my hair multiple times. Well All the time lol. The ambiance of this place is very homey , and all of the staff here is very friendly ,and attentive. Organic Hair care products. Its Great here =)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! So glad I listened to the fellow Yelpers!  Ive been going to the same hair lady for 15 years and my hair was looking a hot mess!  Made an appointment with Tiffany and my hair has never looked so beautiful! Im not even going to say how long I let it last before making another appointment...but it lasted a LONG time!

Its a nice small little salon in Oak Park.  There is street parking, but get there a bit early to find some!  They accept cards for paying but you need to pay in cash for a tip!  Love their products. My hair was so soft and silky and just looked great!  Tiffany is amazing and you can tell she enjoys what she does and really asked a lot of questions to make sure she was providing me with great service.

Great salon, can't wait to get my hair done again and look amazing!

I too am so happy that I listened to the yelpers and gave this place a try.  I'm transitioning/unsure of what I want to do.  Nicole was so helpful and patient.  She is very knowledgeable and perfection is her only option.  She had me fill out a form about my hair and my habits and sat down and discussed it with me.  THEN she looked at my hair.  I was very impressed.  Your hair is apart of YOU, if the stylist doesn't know YOU then how can you know what to do and how to treat MY  hair.  I left the shop with the bomb hair cut, that 2 days later, I'm still receiving compliments on.  The staff is all friendly and helpful as well.  Sometimes stylists tend to focus only on their clients.  Not here.  Other stylists noticed I wasn't fully under the dryer and made the adjustment.  Team work! I'm definitely looking forward to my next appointment.

Short version: I LOVE  the cut and color I received from Nicky. She's EXTREMELY knowledgeable about hair and I won't go anywhere else but to her from now on. Try her. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Long version: I am so happy to have found Sira Salon, and more specifically, Nicky. I am of mixed race and have fine, curly hair. I've tried "upscale" salons in downtown Chicago, trendy salons in Lincoln Park and, of course, the "Egyptians." While some places were definitely better than others, I have never, NEVER walked out of any of them feeling completely satisfied.
I've had long curly hair my entire life but have always wanted a short cut - like bob or even pixie short. However, I was so nervous to leave such a drastic change in the hands of someone I didn't trust so I just kept putting it off and putting it off. Finally a Yelp search pointed me to Sira Salon.
I stopped in after work one Friday and spoke with Nicky. Right away she came across as extremely knowledgeable about hair. She helped me narrow down the exact style I wanted (because I was all over the place) and was honest about what would and wouldn't work with my hair texture, face shape, etc. I booked an appt. for a week later.
I was surprised at how calm I was when my appointment day came. Even throughout the entire process of Nicky coloring and cutting my hair I felt completely comfortable, which I attribute to just how much she seemed to know about hairdressing. She even gave my sister DETAILED advise on products to use to add more body and life to her hair - all without missing a beat on my highlights.
At the end of the process I couldn't believe how beautiful my hair looked. The highlights were perfectly placed, the color was gorgeous and my cut was EXACTLY what I pictured in my head all those times I had imagined myself with short hair. I was so excited I even hugged Nicky and my sister booked an appt. for herself for a couple of weeks later!
I'll never go back to long hair again and as long as Nicky stays in Chicago (Oak Park), she'll always have a customer in me.

Also, Latriece, who washed my hair, was the sweetest! She even gave me a nice little head massage which felt like heaven on Friday after a long week. This place is the best. Can't say enough good things.

Good environment, professional, and they do great hair! This is around the corner from where I live so after reading yelp reviews I decided to give it a try. The shop is clean, welcoming, and the staff made me feel comfortable and pampered. Bianca did my hair and it came out awesome!!!! And I am VERY critical about my hair ladies, LOL! I have gotten so many compliments and my girlfriends kept asking all night where I got my hair done. Keep up the great work Sira Salon! I'm glad I finally found somewhere close to home.

I really enjoyed my service experience at Sira. All of the stylist here does, hair to a perfection. I was styled by Bianca. She did such a great job and I'm not saying that because she's my sister.

All of the products used are natural and organic. I really appreciate the concept that Nicole the owner has for her shop.

Lastly, the environment of the shop is CLEAN and relaxed. You must meet Nicole's sister Gi Gi . She has a beautiful spirit and she provides the service for braids and etc. .
